Welcome to Estates at Red Rock Homeowner's Association

Dear Red Rock Estates Homeowners,
The City of Rapid City is currently in the process of adopting a new ordinance that would allow residents to keep up to six hens (no roosters) in backyard coops, subject to specific regulations related to sanitation, setbacks, and final approval.
While this ordinance may permit backyard chickens within city limits, it does not override existing Homeowners Association (HOA) covenants and restrictions.
Please be advised that the Red Rock Estates HOA covenants do not allow chickens or other poultry to be kept on residential properties. Article III, Section 14: Pets. No animals, livestock, or poultry of any kind shall be raised, fed or kept on any lot except dogs, cats or other household pets may be kept provided that they are not kept, bred or maintained for any commercial purpose.
All homeowners are required to continue following HOA rules and guidelines, regardless of changes to city ordinances and this rule remains in effect regardless of any changes at the city level.
If you have any questions, please contact the HOA board for clarification. We’re happy to help!
